The Telugu action comedy Sarkaru Vaari Paata after enjoying the blockbuster opening weekend held a good grip on the first Monday, though the film saw a major drop in the collections in the home market.
However, makers had organized a success meet in Andhrapradesh’s Kurnool at STBC college grounds on May 16th, where along with the actor, the producers Naveen Yerneni, Y. Ravi Shankar, and the director Parasuram graced the show.
As per Mahesh Babu, they had planned for the event two days before and they didn’t expect that ground would be filled full of audience, the actor also said that he had come to Kurnool for his 2003 hit film Okkadu.
Talking about the collections, SVP collected only Rs 3.64 crore shares on day 5 taking the total share collections to Rs 74.76 crores in AP/TG, the film needs to stay strong on the weekdays especially in the home market as it is where the major chunk of the collection comes from.
Nevertheless, the film accumulated a decent amount at the box office worldwide, it raked in around Rs 10 Cr gross on Monday, taking the total collections to over Rs 143 crores WW. The day 5 worldwide collections could be considered decent as it is normal to usually for a film on the first weekday to mint half of what it earned on the prior day, Sunday.
Mahesh starrer needs around Rs 26 Cr to cross the break-even, if the film would be able to churn out decent collections during weekdays, then it is expected that it could cross the BE mark during the second weekend.
However, SVP saw a major drop in Tuesday collection, earlier it was expected to mint a similar amount as Monday, but the recent reports, suggest that the film minted only Rs 2.32 Cr shares ( Rs 4 Cr gross) on Tuesday from the home market AP/TG.
