A new noble initiative has been introduced by Anant Ambani named Vantara which is an animal rescue project over the globe. On Monday, 26 February 2024, Reliance Industries and Reliance Foundation launched the Vantara program for the betterment of animals.
The Vantara program has been led by Anant Ambani, the director of the boards of RIL and Reliance Foundation, and in a recent interview he said that what started as a passion for him at a very young age has become a mission now with Vantara and their brilliant and committed team. He further continued by saying that they are focused on protecting critically endangered species native to India.
What is Vantara?
Vantara is a Hindi word that means “star of the forest’ which aims towards creating the best for animal conservation and care practices including healthcare, hospitals, research, and academic centers. Also, Vantara will focus on rescue, treatment, care, and rehabilitation of injured and abused animals both in India and internationally.
In a recent interview, Anant Ambani talked briefly about Vantara where he said that they want to restore vital habitats, address urgent threats to species, and establish Vantara as a leading-edge conservation program. It is also reported that the Vantara program has rescued more than 200 elephants in the last few years and thousands of other animals, reptiles, and birds from hazardous situations.
Anant Ambani also states that some of India’s and the world’s top zoological and medical experts have joined Vantara and the program is receiving active collaborations and guidance from government bodies. Anant also mentions that Vantara aims to partner with the Zoo Authority of India and other Government authorities as it will help improve all the 150-plus zoos in India in terms of animal care, training, and more.
It is also reported that for the Vantara project a space of 3000 acres has been converted into a jungle-like environment in the Green Belt of Reliance’s Jamnagar Refinery Complex.
Bollywood lauds Reliance & Anant Ambani for Vantara
The official announcement of Vantara (an animal rescue initiative in India and abroad) made by Anant Ambani has made a buzz and the appreciation posts are all over social media. Various Bollywood stars like Kareena Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Karan Johar, Karishma Kapoor, Ananya Pandey, and many more, have praised the initiative Vantara.
In the post, along with a photo, Kareena wrote in a long note that, this is Tarzan, a young elephant who experienced a life-changing transformation recently after a successful cataract surgery that restored his vision. This is just one of the many amazing stories taking place at Vantara, an initiative by the Reliance Foundation that diligently rescues injured, and endangered animals both domestically and globally.
Actors like, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor also praised Vantara, Ranveer Singh took to his Instagram and wrote for Anant Ambani that, a watershed moment in animal welfare, Anant you have the biggest and best heart. Arjun Kapoor also wrote on his Instagram for Anant and his team that their dedication paves the way for a brighter, more compassionate future for all beings.
