In heartbreaking news, child actor Rahul Koli, who played a key role in the Gujarati film Chhello Show or Last Film Show, which was selected as India’s Official Entry to the Oscars this year, passed away after battling cancer.
The 10-year old was reportedly suffering from leukaemia due to which he developed a low-grade fever initially, which kept coming back despite multiple treatments. According to some reports, he died on October 2, 2022, and his funeral took place in his hometown in Hapa village near Jamnagar, Gujarat.
What Exactly Happened?
As per Rahul’s father Ramu Koli, on Sunday, October 2, Rahul had his breakfast and then, after repeated bouts of fever in the following hours. He further said that the same day, he vomited blood thrice right before he took his last breath that day. “Our family is devastated,” said his father.
Rahul’s Father Says the Family will Watch the Film
Rahul’s father, who drives an auto-rickshaw to earn a living, told the media that the family will surely go to watch the film “Chhello Show”, which will be released theatrically on October 14, 2022, after performing Rahul’s final purification rituals.
His father further revealed that Rahul was eagerly looking forward to the film’s release and was very happy. He used to tell his father that their lives would change after October 14, but unfortunately, he left the world before that.

About the Film
The film is directed, written, and co-produced by Pan Nalin. It stars Bhavin Rabari, Bhavesh Shrimali, Richa Meena, Dipen Raval, and Paresh Mehta. Rahul Koli, who was one of the six child-artists in the film, played Manu.
The Last Show already had its premiere at the 20th Tribea Film Festival on June 10, 2021. It was selected as India’s official entry to the Oscars in September.
