Education and schooling
Sara Ali Khan did her initial schooling at Besant Montessori School, Mumbai. She went on to complete her graduation in history and political science at Columbia University, New York. Sara was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome at an early age which contributed to her struggle with weight gain. Therefore she completed her four and a half years graduation in just three years and utilized the remaining years for weight training before debuting in Bollywood.

Sara Ali Khan admitted during an interview that she was dating Veer Pahariya who is the grandson of former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Sushil Kumar Shinde. However, they parted ways long before Sara debuted in Bollywood with her movie Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. Currently, Sara Ali Khan has stated that she is not dating anyone.
Sara Ali Khan has a great love for dancing and travelling. She also loves to play tennis and could be spotted with her father Saif Ali Khan in the tennis court during their free time.
Debut to Stardom
Born in a family of actors, Sara Ali Khan decided to pursue her career in acting at an early age. She appeared in an advertisement at a year of four. However, as a teenager, she was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome which caused her to gain enormous weight. After completing her graduation, Sara went through a strict fitness regime to get in shape to pursue a career in acting.
Sara Ali Khan made her acting debut in Abhishek Kapoor’s directorial Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. The movie was an inter-religion love story based on the backdrop of Kedarnath floods. Many controversies surrounded the release of the movie and Kedarnath Temple accused the movie to be promoting Love Jihad. The movie was banned in Uttrakhand and received mixed reviews. However, it managed to receive commercial success and Sara’s performance in the movie was heavily praised by the critics and audience alike.
After the success of her romantic-drama movie Kedarnath, Sara Ali Khan appeared in an action movie Simmba opposite Ranveer Singh. Simmba turned out to be another commercial success in her kitty and she yet again impressed everyone with her persona.
Sara Ali Khan has a line up of upcoming projects on her way which includes Coolie No. 1 alongside Varun Dhawan, which is an adaptation of 1995’s super hit movie Coolie No. 1. She will also be seen in renowned director Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming untitled romantic drama opposite Kartik Aaryan in the male lead.
Sara Ali Khan just started her acting career in the Bollywood industry but there are rumours building up that Sara is very confident about her self worth and charges whooping high fees for movie projects.
As per reports, when director Abhishek Kapoor approached her for the movie Kedarnath, she asked for a high fee considering a debutant. 1- Sara Ali Khan made her magazine debut with her photo on the Filmfare cover page but it didn’t go well with the fans. In the cover photo, Sara Ali Khan posed with a Masai Tribesman in the backdrop. People found it disrespectful and cultural appropriation for using a Masai Tribesman as a prop for the photo shoot.
2- Sara Ali Khan’s debut movie Kedarnath was banned in the Uttrakhand state after the Kedarnath Temple accused the movie to be promoting Love jihad. Kedarnath was a love story between a Hindu girl and a Muslim porter set at the backdrop of 2013 Uttrakhand floods.
3- After her debut movie met with controversies, she faced a hard time in the Bollywood industry as well. In an interview, Sara Ali Khan confessed that after her movie was banned for religious issues, directors and producers from Bollywood were not offering any role to her. She thanked Karan Johar who stood with her and cast her in Simmba opposite Ranveer Singh.
4- Sara Ali Khan was to make her debut with Abhishek Kapoor’s directorial Kedarnath but the production got delayed due to legal issues. In the meantime, Sara signed Rohit Shetty’s action movie Simmba which breached her contract with Abhishek Kapoor and he sent her a legal notice. Saif Ali Khan intervened into the matter and Sara agreed to split her time to both the movies.
Sara Ali Khan is a down to earth celebrity of Bollywood who had a great start in her acting career. Sara was overweight owing to her medical conditions but she fought against it and got back in shape before debuting in Bollywood. Sara is also known to be strong headed who knows her worth and chooses scripts and movie fees on her own. She is the daughter of Saif Ali Khan, Amrita Singh and Kareena Kapoor, yet she doesn’t mind travelling in an auto rickshaw.
Sara Ali Khan is also against smoking and she forced her father Saif Ali Khan to quit smoking. In an interview, Saif Ali Khan admitted that he was a chain smoker but Sara took a promise from him that he would quit smoking after her debut movie and after the release of her movie Kedarnath, being a Pataudi Saif Ali Khan stood to his words and quitted smoking once and for all.
Sara Ali Khan charges higher than other debutants which conflict with directors and producers of Bollywood. She is also known to be a straight forward girl who doesn’t think twice before making a statement.
In an interview, she also confessed that she has a bad habit of studying way too much. She said that her mother Amrita Singh used to ask her to stop studying as she was a bookworm.
Sara Ali Khan has just two releases so far and she didn’t have enough screen presence in her second movie Simmba alongside Ranveer Singh who stole the show. However, she was heavily praised for her acting skills in her debut movie Kedarnath opposite actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Sara Ali Khan won the Filmfare Best Female Debut for her performance in Abhishek Kapoor’s disaster love-drama Kedarnath in the year 2018.
Her upcoming releases, which include the remake of David Dhawan’s Coolie No. 1 and Imtiaz Ali’s romantic drama Love Aaj Kal 2, may earn her more film awards.
